Polarized sea measurements at JPARC
Large double spin-asymmetries can be foreseen for Drell-Yan production in scattering at JPARC energies. The sign of the asymmetries can be used to
discriminate between different model calculations of sea quark distributions.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures, Proceedings of DIS2006, Kyoto 200
New results from NA48 on rare neutral -decays
New results by the NA48 collaboration on rare neutral K decay are reported. and decays are reviewd. A preliminary B.R. of 0.20(sys) and an evidence of events with < 240 MeV are given for NA48 previous results on are reviewed. The first measurement of decay with the B.R. of ~ and an asymmetry consistent with 0 are reported

PST 2009 XIIIth International Workshop on Polarized Sources, Targets & Polarimetry
he International Workshop on Polarized Sources, Targets & Polarimetry, which is sponsored by the International Spin Physics Committee, has been hosted for more than 20 years, regularly circulating between the USA, Europe and Japan. Although dedicated Meetings exist for some of the fields covered, the Workshop is meant to give a general, but comprehensive view of the technology involved in the polarization experiments and applications, encouraging discussions and exchange of informations between the different fields. To this aim the program will foresee round-table discussions on the basic limitations of the various polarization techniques and possible paths for future progress. Visibility will be given to new ideas and proposals.
The topics of the Workshop will include:
- Polarized Electron Sources
- Polarized Proton and Deuterium Sources
- Polarized Internal Targets
- Polarized 3He Ion Sources and Targets
- Polarimetry (e, p, d) at Low and High Energy
- Polarized antiprotons
- Polarized Solid Target

Transversity 2008 - Second Worshop on Transverse Polarisation Phenomena in Hard Processes
Transversity and transverse spin are one of the presently most debated issues in Hadron Physics. The present Workshop is organized in the frame of a Ministry-funded inter-university Research Project of National Interest (PRIN) specifically dedicated to this aspect and follows the one held in Como in 2005. The members of the project have planned this Workshop to gather together theorists and experimentalists engaged in investigating the nature of transverse spin in hadron physics, with the aim of exchanging up-to-date theoretical and experimental ideas and news on the subject.
The Conference will take place in the meeting room of Camera di Commercio of Ferrara, just in front of Castello Estense.
On the basis of the previous experience, we are expecting a total of 70-80 participants and plan a number of theoretical and experimental presentations with approximately 40 speakers (by invitation only) and one or two round-table discussions
New experimental approach to modern three-nucleon forces
Spin observables in proton deuteron breakup reactions at low energies offer a rich testing ground for the modern theory of nuclear forces, the chiral effective field theory (EFT). In the three-nucleon continuum the experimental data and the theoretical predictions are today at variance. At the PAX facility at COSY we plan to make an extensive study of analyzing powers and spin correlation parameters in pd breakup reactions at low energies between 30 and 50 MeV, an energy range where previous measurements are scarce and limited while three-nucleon effects are expected to be significant. Furthermore it is an ideal energy for the predictive power of chiral EFT to be tested. The longstanding physics question of the nature of three-nucleon forces will be studied with large coverage provided by an optimized silicon detector barrel, and flexibility utilizing the sampling method, a technique for direct comparison between experiment and theory developed specifically for the..
